UCH: First Director, Clinical Nursing, Patricia Onianwa Bows out of Office
The First Director, Clinic Nursing Department Dr. Patricia Obiajulu Onianwa has bowed out from office.
Dr. Patricia Onianwa' role in fostering academic growth within the nursing profession, particularly at UCH was acknowledged by the hospital Chief Medical Director Prof. Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo .
Prof. Otegbayo noted this during a valedictory and retirement service titled "Digital Innovation and Nursing Excellence: A Nursing Approach to Patient Wellbeing" organised to celebrate the illustrious career of Dr. Patricia Onianwa.
The UCH, CMD applauded her integrity, describing her as a principled individual who fearlessly championed the advancement of nursing standards and facilitated collaboration within the profession.
The guest lecturer, Prof. Adenike Ayobola Olaogun, a renowned expert in Maternal and Child Health Nursing and Nursing Classification, while speaking stressed that the digital health technologies will enhance cost-effectiveness, coordination, and accessibility across the entire population.
Also speaking at the event, the Secretary General, Registrar, and CEO of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, Dr. Faruk Umar Abubakar appreciated Dr Onianwa contributions to the nursing profession, saying her Lagacy will be forever noted.
The event was held at the School of Nursing Omolade Hall, University of Ibadan .
