Society for Family Health Hosts PSI Leadership to Strengthen Partnership

Society For family Health ( SFH) Nigeria recently hosted the HEPC3P Project principal recipient, Population Services International (PSI) and a technical consultant from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).

This collaborative visit aimed to foster stronger relationships, exchange knowledge, and drive the project forward. The visit commenced with a courtesy meeting between PSI and SFH's executive leadership. This meeting served as an avenue to review the components of the HEPC3P project, and intimate SFH executive management on the itinerary for their visit.

Another major activity held in the course of PSI’s visit was the HEPC3P Strategic Stakeholders/Partners Meeting. This important gathering brought together key stakeholders from Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH), National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA), National AIDS, Viral Hepatitis and STIs Control Programme (NASCP), National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), National Human Rights Commission, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), World Health Organisation (WHO), Institute of Human Virology, Nigeria (IHVN) and the Drug Harm Reduction Advocacy Network (DHRAN).

The meeting was aimed at giving an overview of the proposed Long-Acting Depot Buprenorphine (LADB) research, a crucial aspect of the HEPC3P initiative; gaining valuable insights on the ongoing National Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT) research, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing; and identifying opportunities for ensuring the successful execution of the project's research, paving the way for impactful outcomes.

Overall, this visit served as a significant platform for strengthening partnerships, fostering knowledge sharing, and advancing the goals of the HEPC3P project. SFH remains committed to collaborating with government, public and private sector stakeholders to ultimately contribute to ensuring healthy lives for all Nigerians.
