Ogun Correctional Centre Receives Hope Water Project Succor

In ensuring availability of water resources which is critical to the survival of people and the planet, Nigeria Connect INC (USA)in partnership with Shokesta Development Initiative(Nigeria) commissioned hope water project at Ogun correctional center, Abeokuta.

The Hope water project was put in place recently to strengthen SDG Goal 6 which does not only tackles issues relating to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), but also the quality and sustainability of water resources worldwide. 

While speaking at the event, the founder of Shokesta Development Initiative who doubles to be a Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) advocate, Amb. Oluwakemi Soyebi said the project aimed at providing access to clean water at the Oba Correctional Center in Oba Village, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Shokesta Founder added "Water is life, the fact that they're inmates does not mean they shouldn't have access to good water. My focus now is on the inmates at the correctional centers I believe it is not over until it is over".
