UCH Paediatrics Department Marks 60yrs in Grand Style
As part of the activities to commemorate the six decades of Paediatrics Practice, Research and Training at Ibadan and Her Global Relevance, the department paid a courtesy visit to the University College Hospital Ibadan today.
Addressing the Hospital’s Management at the Foyer, Dr. Remi Ayede said the visit is to familiarize the management of the activities line up to commemorate the six decades of the department.
"As part of the activities to celebrate the six decades of Paediatrics Practice, a health talk will be done with women at Bodija, a community in Ibadan on under 5 years children mortality in Nigeria and the disease responsible for the cause of deaths which are preventable through early immunisation. We shall discuss preventable measures for diarrhoea, childhood pneumonia, convulsion in children, and how to make a newborn survive through immunisation by familiarising the mother with immunisation schedule, " she said.
Receiving the Department at the Foyer, the Chief Medical Director Prof. Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo represented by the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee Dr. Abiodun Adeoye appreciated the efforts of the Paediatrics Department so far, saying that when care is given to children, it will prevent them from contracting diseases, which might affect their health in adulthood.
