In Ogun, 36 Girls Benefit From NNPC Economic Skill Training

Thirty -Five adolescent girls have successfully completed the A360-THEEP project, an economic empowerment skill training.

The Project which was funded by Total Energies, NNPC Limited and their Partners, started off with an initial phase of training over 9,000 girls with basic skills, and culminated in the selection of 35 girls for longer term training.  
 
While the 32 successful graduates of the project were equiped with start up kits which will enhance the economic indices of both the communities and the nation at large, the best 2 graduands were awarded an additional 6 months training. 

Having undergone  training in both catering and tailoring, the start up kits would enable the girls to immediately utilise the skills they have received in making economic gains benefiting them and their communities.

The event took place at the Conference Hotel in Abeokuta, Ogun state,  was attended by the First Lady of Ogun State (rep), Permanent secretaries of the Ogun State Ministries of Health and Economic Empowerment, the MD of Total Energies (rep), Total Energies Director Communications and Head of CSR and Community Relations.

Others in attendance are Community members, Parents and Relatives of the Graduating girls, staff of the Solbot training institute(where the girls received training in Catering and Fashion Design for 6 months) among others.
