Alli Wins Oyo South Senetorial Seat

A former secretary to Oyo State government, Barrister Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli was on Monday declared as the winner of the Oyo South senatorial district election.

Alli, contested on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the election which held across the nine (9) local government areas in the district on Saturday.

The returning officer, Professor Wole Olatokun of the department of Data and Information science, University of Ibadan, who made the declaration stated that Alli of APC scored a total of 111,513 votes to defeat the two other candidates. 

Alli defeated Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 92,481 and Idris Kolapoboye Kola-Daisi of Accord scored who has a total of 33,641 votes.

However, the chairman, South Senetorial District of the All Progressive Party ( APC),  Hon Mojeed Olaooya described the party's victory at the senetorial level as a blow to the face of the present administrative.

Olaooya while speaking with newsmen shortly after announcing the state results at the independent Electoral Commission (INEC) collation centre added that winning against the sitting governor serves as a red flag for him in the upcoming gubernatorial election.
