Residents cry out as Apete- Akufo road go bad



Residents of Apete - Akufo, Awotan in Ido local Government Area of Oyo state have called for a quick intervention by the State Government over the deplorable condition of the roads.

The residents lamented that erosion which has created several potholes on the road, makes it difficult for car and tricyclen Owners to carry out their activities.

One of them Adesola Kamir said "Some of us have abandoned our vehicle at home because we cannot afford to be spending the best of our income to repair our vehicles due to the poor condition of the road” .

Also, Alhaja Adejoke Olagoke lamented that ‘ it is risky to plight that route with goods ,we run at a loss at time because of the unstatisfactory state of the road, reason we want the government to help us fix the road urgently ,the present administration should  not abandoned us like his successor.

“Eng. Fabayo Rasaq, the chairman of Awotan community landlord Association  said  the community had earlier fixed part of the damage road but later got damage due to heavy downpour and blockage of drainages “

Fabayo said ‘ We have commenced work on some part of the road but our effort is just  a temporary measure , we need a permanent solution , we want the governor to fix the road for us, many people are deserting the community because of the poor condition of the road and I  believe in the ability of Engineer Makinde to continue where his predecessor stopped.

The Residents however call on the state government under the leadership of Eng Seyi Makinde to hearken to their voices, and declare a state of emergency on the road.
