Gov. Makinde never sidelined me when making decisions - Deputy


The Oyo State Deputy Governor, Engr. Rauf Aderemi Olaniyan has commended the state Governor Seyi Makinde for involving his office in decision making process, and not being biased with appointments.

According to the Deputy Gov. " I will be lying if I said Gov. Seyi Makinde does not carry me along in the decision and appointment he has made so far, my office is indeed functioning, and this is unprecedented in the history of the state".

Olaniyan gave this commendation over the weekend at a reception held in his honour by the Igboho Unity Forum, a Social Cultural Association of Igboho descendants held in Ibadan.

The Deputy Gov, discribed the present administration as a government for all and Sundry, saying "unlike the immediate past when the "Constituted Authority" was solely charged".

According to him, "The people of Oyo should expect the dividends of democracy through sustainable growth in the economy"

"We have sworn that we will be good to everyone in our state, though I am from Igboho in Oke Ogun, am committed to every other zones in the state with no form of favorism, am ready to work for the general interest of the people. No area will be left out, every part of  Oyo should  expect this development. 
 
The Special Guest at the occasion, Mr Ademola Ajibola who represented the Executive Governor of the State, while commending the ogarnisers of the event gave his words that development will cut across the entire State.

Chairman, Unity Group Igboho, Otunba Olawuwo Oni, who described the past  office holders as people who performed beyond expectations, lauded the  incumbents leaders for their success in the keenly contested recent elections.

Oni commended Unity group Igboho as a leader in the crusade of giving recognition to people who are leaders in various human endeavors.

Also the Chairman of the Occasion, Commodore Moshood Babatunde rtd, described political offices as a call to responsibility urging incumbents to get closer to the grassroots where they can feel the pulse of the people.

"People voted for you because they believe you have value to offer and you will protect their interests. You must not disappoint our people," he stated.

In their separate remarks,  the Onibode of Igboho, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdul Rasheed Jayeola Anikulapo and Onigboho of Igboho land, Oba John Oyetola enjoined the politicians not to be far from the electorate adding that they should fulfill their campaign promises. Also in attendance are The Alepata of Igboho HRM Oba Joel Olawuwo; The Iba of Kisi HRM Oba Aweda Lawal and other Chiefs.

Other prominent personalities at the event, included Dr. Mrs Amudalat Olaniyan, wife of the Deputy Governor,  Former Oyo state Deputy Governor Moses Alake, Hon. Mulikat Akande, Chief Micheal Adetoro, Engr ADEREMI Oseni,Alhaji Lateef Komi, Hon. Najeem Omirinde, Lateef Yusuf. Also present were the member, State House of Assembly, Oorelope Local Government, Hon. Adebunmi Abdul Lateef, former member, State House of Assembly, Oorelope Local Government, Hon. Lukman Balogun and others.
