INEC declares Seyi Makinde the winner of Oyo Guber race
The Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Engineer Seyi Makinde has been declared the winner of March 9 governorship election in Oyo State.

The INEC Returning Officer in Oyo state Prof Oluwatoyin Ogundipe who declared the result on Sunday evening at Oyo INEC headquarters in Ibadan disclosed that Makinde scored 515,621 votes while Mr Adebayo Adelabu 357,982 votes.
He said PDP candidate won in 28 of the 33 local government areas of the state while APC won in five local government areas.
The Returning Officer, who is the Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, who gave a total number of registered voters in the state as 2,934,107 said only 940,211 voters were accredited for the election.
He added that the governorship election recorded 916,860 valid votes, 20,685 rejected votes and 937,545 total votes cast.
