Oyo INEC Holds Stakeholders' Election Forum


The Independent National Electoral Commission, Oyo State Chapter, on tuesday hosted stakeholders forum aimed at the preparation of the rescheduled Presidential and National Assembly Elections.

The Stakeholders election forum  registered the attendance of members of political Parties  Security agencies, Electoral officers and Non governmental organizations.

Addressing the audience , Resident Electoral Commissioner, in Oyo Barr. Mutiu Agboke said the meeting was called to assure the voting public on the commission resolve to conduct hitch free election come Saturday 23rd of February, 2019.

Agboke who, on behalf of the commission expressed and tender  his unreserved apology to the Nigeria voters for the rescheduling of the general elections assured that results of the election at the polling units and collation centres would be posted at respective venues.

Speaking at the meeting, The chairman of the Inter - Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) and the Oyo state Commisioner for Police. CP Shina Olukolu pledged on the readiness and preparation of the security agencies in maintaining peace and order during the time of elections.

Also speaking at the Forum, the State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Commission (NYSC) Mrs. Olufunke Ambekemo pledged  for the safety of the Corp members who have been trained to participate in the elections processes.
