Nigeria at 58: Oyo celebrates in grand style
As part of the activities marking Nigeria's 58th Independence anniversary, a march Past for pupils and students in both public and private schools in the state was held at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
The event which was declared open by the Governor of the State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi with the March Past salute, also recorder activities include cultural display, novelty match, cycling and other side attractions.
Military and Para-Military agencies as well as voluntary organizations, such as Boys Scouts, Girls Guild, Man O War, Red Cross amongst others participated in the March Past.
The governor was represented by the deputy governor, Mr Alake Adeyemo, disclosed that the theme of this year celebration is "Enhancing our Diversity for National Development'
The State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr. Abayomi Oke while addressing the audience appreciated the Heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), Permanent Secretaries and Directors as well as the general public for attending this National event to mark the anniversary of Nigeria's independence.
