PDP picks Seyi Makinde as Oyo gubernatorial candidate


Engineer Seyi Makinde of the Peoples  Democratic Party(PDP) has emerged as the party gubernatorial candidate in the  state primary.

The People's Democratic Party primaries was held on Sunday at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, popularly known as  liberty stadium, Ibadan.





It was reported that the gubernatorial position was betewen Senator Ayoade Adeseun and Engineer Seyi  Makinde, in which  Engineer  Seyi Makinde came first.

Also, we learnt that Senator Ayoade Adeseun and his party agent was absence at the  primaries.

Makinde in is acceptance speech lamented that Oyo state resources have  been badly managed in the past seven years, with an average of I.8bn from IGR every month and a record debt profile of over 130bn.

" it is not asking for too much for government to have eliminated the preponderance of the dept owed particularly to the vulnerable citizens.

"This necessitated the need to formulate strategies to improve the revenue base of Oyo state using innovative approaches that will not affect the welfare of the citizenry or discourage investors"

"While the youths represent the future of Oyo state, the present administration has largely neglected the well being of the youths, we promise to employ innovative ways to empower youths and also enhance social inclusion and protection of the venerable and marginalised groups which is about providing equal opportunities for men and women and readdressing the disadvantages of the group".

The PDP gubernatorial candidate promised to denied of having a god father in the party promised to work diligently to actualize his good plans for the betterment of the state.
