2019: Oyedele Alao becomes AD gubernatorial flag bearer
Engineer Oyedele Alao on Saturday 29th of September emerged as the 2019 governorship candidate of the Alliance for Democracy ( AD) during the party primaries.
Alao who according to him described the primaries as the fulfillment of a burning desires to revive the party's towards enthronement of a prosperous progressive governance, said the party is on the verge of repeating the success stories of 1999 general election.
"Like today, 20 years ago, our party across the south western states elected governorship candidates and subsequently swept all the six states in the 1999 general election"
" It was a feat many saw unrealistic, until it came as a rude shock. I am happy that the party is on d verge of repeating the history and stories of 1999".
"In the last nine months like other candidate, I have travelled round d 33 local government of the States preaching the gospel of redemption. Redemption of the pace setter status of our dear state in a bid to ensure prosperity for Oyo indigenes and residents "
"Dear delegates, leaders and members, you will agree with me that our state has never had it this bad, our economy is in shambles, education in comatose, healthcare system in outright jeopardy, all these must not continue , as you took a bold step of electing me as your candidates for 2019 election, I am more than ready to combat all these anomalies".
