OMPAN debuts in Oyo, Inducts committee members to oversee state affairs
Online Media Practioners Association Of Nigeria, (OMPAN) on Thursday instituted the Oyo State Chapter of the association, just as it inaugurated a 7men ad-hoc committee to handle the affairs of the State.
The newly inaugurated committee are; Remi Oladoye, Chairman, Wole Adejumo Vice Chairman, Tolu Iyiade, Treasurer, Musliudeen Adebayo, Secretary , Patrick Akpu, Assistant Secretary, Ayodele Ìdòwú,
Welfare Secretary, and Dare Adeniran, Public Relations Officer.

OMPAN's Deputy National President (South West), Peter Jones Ailuorio, a former News Editor of Leadership Newspaper, who inaugurated the committee at the Ibadan Office of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) advised that the reputation of the association should be well protected.
Ailuorio who stated that the future of journalism is online, noted that online Media has an advantage over the conventional media in that they can break the verified news as it happens without necessarily waiting till the following day.
The National Vice President also mentioned that the association which was launched in April in Owerri, has birthed two state which are Lagos and Ekiti and just added Oyo state to the list.
Also present at the event is a former Chairman of the Oyo State Council of the NUJ, Wale Ojo Lanre and the Chairman of the South West Group of Online Publishers, SWEGOP, Olayinka Agboola.
