50 public school students receive WAEC and NECO scholarship in Oyo

50 Final Year indigent students of Ibadan Boys High School, have recently received both WAEC and NECO examination Scholarships.
The scholarship was presented by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr Yussuf Alli( SAN) at the school premises
According to him, The Yusuf Olaolu Alli foundation is concentrating on two areas of intervention which is education and health. It is in fulfillment of one of its focus that has led to today's ceremony in which 50 identifiable indigent final year students of Ibadan Boys High School, being assisted in the full payment of their WAEC and NECO.
Delivering his speech entitled" Ignorance is Expensive " Ali stressed that" The topic of this short speech is informed by the fact that both the government at all levels and parents are no more investing as much in education it used to be. You will agree with me that education is cheaper than ignorance ".
Alli appeal to both the Federal and State Government of Nigeria to accord education its due priority as this is the bedrock of a progressive and successful society." I appeal to the Oyo State Government not to relent in its giant stride to place education in its rightful place as the bedrock of a progressive and successful society".
Alli challenged the 50 beneficiaries to strive hard to obtain distinction in all subjects they will change offer for WAEC and NECO examinations.
He advised parents to do more in financing the education of their children and stop excessive on social events like burial,"All men and women of goodwill should make it a duty to intervene in the educational sector of our society.He stressed.
Responding, the principal, Ibadan Boys High School, Mr Abubarka Olasupo, acknowledged the goodwill of the benefactor for investing in humanity, saying it worth emulating.
Olasupo enjoined parents to make use of the money refund to buy necessary educational materials needed by the students to come out in flying colours.
