2018 Budget: we will ensure no project is left abandoned- Abimbola


In line with the 2018 budget proposal presented by the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi Thursday, 14th December, 2017, Ministry of finance and Budget pledged not to left any project uncompleted.

The ministry, through its commissioner  Hon, Adekanbi Abimbola on monday said this during the presentation of the 2018 budget proposal analysis on monday at the House of Chiefs, Parliament Building, State Secretariat, Ibadan.

According to him "During the presentation, a budget in the sum of Two hundrend and Sixty -Seven Billon, Four hundred and Thirty- Six Millon, Three hundred and Fifty - Seven thousand, Nine hundred and Twelve Naira, Nineteen Kobo.

"You will recall that 2018 budget "Budget of Stabilization"; effort was directed towards harnessing all possible revenue to execute every on going projects and to bring new ones introduced to completion .

" The priority of the government shall be on infrastructure, Agriculture and its entire value chain, education and health while other sectors would also be given deserved attention".

His words, "inspite of the low performance of the 2017 budget, the 2018 budget was evolved from a Zero Based Budgeting approach which made it mandatory that every budget item(Revenue and expenditure) was only included after strong and through justification.

Abimbola promised that the ministry will put machinery in motion to ensure that no project is abandoned or left uncompleted through regular monitoring and quarterly review of budget performance.

Abimbola bustressed that the ministry departments and agencies of Government will bed to calendarise their programme and projects for easy monitoring and assessment.

Abimbola who disclosed that the essence of the analysis was to bring the budget to the public domain,said that the contribution towards its effective  implementation will be welcome from all stakeholders.
