No plan to islamise Nigeria - MUSWEN
Contrary to speculation that there were plans to islamize Nigeria, the Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) has denounced the claim, saying it was ruthless.
president, Dr Sakariyau Babalola said" for the group to raise its voice in the emerging socio-political dynamics to ensure that any political authority recognises our rights to live our lives as Muslims.
The group's executive secretary, Prof, Daud Noibi while speaking during the inauguration of MUSWEN Elders' Forum in Ibadan said there was no basis for such claim.
" we have made it clear that nothing like such is happening, i can assure you that at time goes on people will realize that most of the claims are ruthless " He added.
The religious leader declared that those who think that there are plans to Islamise Nigeria do not mean we'll for the country.
While urging the Muslims to ignore such report, the religious leader warned the Christians leaders not to take arms against the Muslim,saying there are mixture of Muslims and Christians in South West, and everybody have the right to live, education and practice their religion. "
The chairman, Board of Trustees, Prince Bola Ajibola (SAN) stressed that MUSWEN over the years had genuinely brought all stakeholders together under one umbrella without prejudices and discrimination.
He said the concept of stakeholders was powerful, saying it's success and failure were defined by the commitment of its stakeholders, "an effective stakeholder management and engagement is sine qua non for our success."

"Indeed, the Ummah needs to effectively provide alternative views to.sometimes intemperate claims of regional socio-political groups that are inimical to our faith and other interests as Muslims," he added.
According to him, it was against this background that the establishment of MUSWEN Elders Forum has become imperative,adding that the forum was an important initiative which would complement the advisory role of the board of trustees.
